"Launched" at Sailboat 2001 at Ali Pali, London was the brand new Ovington built B14. See first pictures below - credit to the photographer, Chris Hay - thanks.
The most significant change is the introduction of a trench in the foredeck to house the bowsprit. This provides much easier access to the pole to conduct maintenance and simplifies the launch system. The trench cover (see photo bottom right) maintains the enclosed foredeck, a major advantage when sailing in waves, and the overall foredeck structure is stronger and more able to cope with crew weight in light airs.
Other detail changes include the extension of the kick out bars aft and improvement to the non slip in both the cockpit and aft area of the foredeck. Tail-aways on both tack line and spinnaker halyard are standard and overcome knotting problems on kite drops.
The boat is provided as a complete ready to race package with a high quality of standard fittings.
